I spent a really long time on this, and it is my first flash, so be kind. Also, check my deviantart often, because I update that more than I do here. A lot more. So this summer, I'm working a little more with flash, developing more patience when it comes to frame-by-frame, and having fun with my new tablet. I redid the character design for the two lead females, Rell and Lid the other day, and as soon as the new flash packet gets here (Fash 8, yay!) I want to start a few scenes of "Edge!"

CharactersMarin Hammelherd: Of no close relation to Tarp and Tendon Hammelherd, there's just a lot of slaughterers. They may be Great-cousin-god-uncle's sons or something, who knows? He was raised in a mixed Deepwoods village with 15 siblings and is currently employed on Captain Megry's cruise skyship, Dreamdancer. 6'3'ish, green eyes. Obviously red hair & skin. Mire L'Ambrou: (see faunites) Mire is son of the farfather of a middle-sized ShalloWood town, making him the firstchild, or heir. He ran away to Undertown at age 17 after his (kind of) betrothed committed suicide. Angsty and angry, he too is employed on the Dreamdancer, as the chef. Black hair, pale, and amber, slightly slanted eyes like any pureblood faunite. CQ Demephraxis: CQ is half forest-folk, with brown eyes and pale blond hair. He is the Leaguesmaster of the New Undertown Association for a Better Living Place. We just call it the League. He owns all three Demephraxis estates, but lost the grandest, located in Old Undertown in the maelstorm. Financer of the Dreamdancer expedition. Romulus Quedarius: Rom works in the docks of Old Undertown, repairing and building skycraft. He lived on his own for four years before finding Rell, bruised and broken, when they were sixteen. His parents and (as far as he knows)sister were killed in a devastating fire that engulfed four buildings. He's purely Edgefolk, with slightly tanned skin, dark eyes and hair, and almond eyes. Rell Quedarius: Rell has no knowledge of her actual last name, having been raised in an orphanage in Old Undertown, so she takes Rom's for professional reasons. They're not married, and they are DEFINATELY not siblings. :) She's about 5'3" with blond hair and blue eyes (forest-folk) She is the mechanic on the Dreamdancer. Lidius Quedarius: Lid, on the other hand, is Rom's sister. She was lost in the crowd of people during the same fire that killed their parents. A kindly Woodtroll led her to the very orphanage Rell had come to two years before. They became best friends at once, along with the young Minet. She was a practiced thief for the interim of four years between her leaving the orphanage and her employment on the Dreamdancer. Minet Cloudgardien: Minet has no idea where she came from, and had no idea where she was going when she left the orphanage in hopes of becoming a librarian scholar, in the tradition of the academics. However, dreams don't always come true, and she was sold into slavery before she managed to reach the Freeglades at all. She was bought by one of Undertown's slummy brothels. She managed to escape after Rell's attempted suicide, and her dreams of being an academic came true- she migrated to New Undertown. This is where Megry discovered her, and hired her as the first crew member aboard Dreamdancer- when it was still a concept. Megry Blackvix: Megry is part non-termagent trog, and the daughter of Twig and Maugin, conceived right before the crash at Riverrise. Maugin tried to skyfire them away when Megry was three. Megry survived, thanks to the Riverrise water they brought, but there was, unfortunately not enough for the both of them. So little Megry grew up at the height of the Stone-sickness, cared for by a gruff old ex-sky pirate by the name of Wind Dragon. She saw the skyships fall one by one, and always dreamed of bringing them back to the Edge. She was nearly forty when she finally found the means to do so and a crew crazy enough to try it, but, because of her ancestry, still appeared about twenty or thirty. Also known as Oddeye Blackvix, because of an injury sustained through being sky-fired, she is small of stature, but tries her best to be intimidating. Transit Verdiax: Transit is the cabin boy aboard the Dreamdancer. He is half-faunite, with color-changing eyes and white-blond hair. He is all smiles and loves to tease (not in a romantic sense)except when around Star, whom he has a long term rivalry with. Star Tilgred: Star is the youngest member of the Dreamdancer crew, two years younger than Rell. She grew up in the Silver Pastures, and Megry hired her to be the ship's fighter after seeing her threaten a merchant who cheated her at knife point, then proceeded to attempt to take on the entire Xaxis guard. Megry saved her from trial and certain death among the ghouls of Screetown. |
